Privacy Policy

Skald Corp | thewyrdpodcast.com  ·  Last updated: June 2026 (revised)

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Skald Corp and Rachel Hansen ("Skald," "we," "us") collect, use, and protect information when you visit thewyrdpodcast.com, subscribe to any of our tiers, or engage with our services. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to provide our services.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Name and email address when subscribing, booking a session, or contacting us
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe or Patreon; we never store card details
  • Information shared in session intake forms or booking questionnaires
  • Messages and communications sent through our community workspace or email

Information Collected Automatically

  • Basic analytics data (page views, traffic sources) via our website platform
  • Cookies necessary for site function — we do not use advertising or tracking cookies

Information from Third Parties

  • Patreon provides us with your name, email, and tier status when you subscribe
  • Stripe provides transaction confirmation and subscription status
  • Calendly provides booking details when you schedule a session

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the services you've paid for (sessions, community access, digital assets)
  • Communicate with you about your subscription, bookings, or purchases
  • Maintain your membership status and access permissions
  • Respond to questions, refund requests, or support inquiries
  • Improve our offerings based on aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with third parties except as described in Section 4.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Stripe, Patreon, and Calendly as necessary to process payments and bookings
  • With Supabase, our database and authentication infrastructure provider, which stores your profile information, messages sent through the community workspace, and uploaded files on our behalf. Supabase stores data on servers located in the United States and is bound by its own data processing terms. Messages and files stored in our community workspace are not end-to-end encrypted — they are protected by access controls and encryption at rest, but are accessible to Supabase in their role as infrastructure provider. You can review Supabase’s privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
  • With Vercel, our hosting provider, which serves thewyrdpodcast.com. Vercel processes standard web request data (IP addresses, browser information) as part of delivering our site. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • When required by law, court order, or legal process
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of Skald Corp, our members, or the public

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. If you cancel your subscription or request deletion of your data, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

  • The right to access the personal information we hold about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information
  • The right to opt out of any marketing communications
  • The right to data portability

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@thewyrdpodcast.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, contact hello@thewyrdpodcast.com.

8. European Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to deliver services you've purchased), legitimate interests (to operate and improve our services), and consent where explicitly provided.

9. Cookies

thewyrdpodcast.com uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function (session management, authentication). We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies that track you across sites.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact hello@thewyrdpodcast.com.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Row Level Security (RLS) enforced at the database level — members can only access their own messages, files, and profile data, even if they attempt to access the API directly
  • All data transmitted between your device and our services is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS
  • Data stored in Supabase (messages, files, profiles) is encrypted at rest
  • Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth using industry-standard JWT tokens
  • Content Security Policy and other HTTP security headers are enforced on all pages

Important note on messages: Messages sent through the community workspace are stored in our database and are not end-to-end encrypted. This means messages are protected from other members and external parties, but are technically accessible to infrastructure providers (Supabase) in their role as database host. We treat your messages with strict confidentiality and will never read or share them except as required by law.

Payment data is handled entirely by PCI-compliant processors (Stripe, Patreon) and is never stored on our systems.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of significant changes via email or through our community workspace. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
